Privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-09-17 Pezo is a video game tracker. This page says exactly what it stores about you, why, and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
What Pezo stores
Your account. An email address, a username, a password (stored only as a bcrypt hash — nobody at Pezo can read it), and whatever display name and bio you choose to add. Your library. The games you add, what status you give each one, hours, ratings, reviews, notes, and the dates things were started and finished. This is the point of the app. What you post. Comments, reviews, lists, follows, likes. Images you upload. A profile picture, a profile banner, a list cover. They are resized on your device before they are sent, which also removes the location data a camera photo carries. Linked gaming accounts. If you link Steam, Xbox or PlayStation, Pezo stores the identifier for that account and, where the platform requires one, a credential for reading your library. Those credentials are encrypted before they are written down. Pezo reads your game library and playtime from them and nothing else — it cannot post, buy, message, or change anything on those platforms. Push tokens, if you allow notifications, so a notification can reach your device. Ordinary server logs, which include IP addresses, kept only as long as they are useful for spotting abuse.
What Pezo does not do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
- Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with anyone for marketing.
- No profiling beyond the recommendations the app shows you, which are computed
from your own ratings and nobody else's personal data.
Who can see what
A public profile shows your library, statistics and activity to anyone, including people who are not signed in. A private profile shows them only to followers you have accepted. You can switch between the two at any time, and switching to private also hides everything you posted while public. Your email address is never shown to other users.
Where it is stored
On servers operated by the hosting provider running this deployment, in a MongoDB database. Uploaded images are stored either in that database or in Cloudflare R2 object storage, depending on how the deployment is configured.
Game data
Game titles, cover art, screenshots, release dates, genres and ratings come from IGDB. Pezo sends IGDB the search terms and game ids it needs to answer a request. It does not send IGDB anything about you.
Your rights
You can, at any time and without asking anybody:
- See everything Pezo holds about you — it is all visible in the app.
- Correct it, from your profile and library screens.
- Delete it. Settings → Delete account removes your account, library,
activity, comments, lists, follows, uploaded images and linked accounts. It is immediate and cannot be undone. If you are in the EU or the UK, these are your GDPR rights to access, rectification and erasure. Nothing here asks you to email anybody to exercise them, because a right you have to request is a right with a queue in front of it.
Children
Pezo is not intended for children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or who can see it, the app will say so before the change takes effect.
